What is physiotherapy?

Understanding the therapy

Physiotherapy is a hands-on, one-on-one treatment designed to help you assess, understand, and recover from pain or injury. It can help with concerns such as:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Sports injuries
  • Post-surgery
  • Arthritis
  • Repetitive strain
  • Poor posture

Physiotherapy supports recovery, pain relief, and the development of stronger, healthier movement — helping you return to an active, balanced life. Through assessment, hands-on treatment, and a guided exercise program, you build lasting strength and mobility that improve your overall wellbeing and quality of life.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Questions we often asked

  • How do I book my first appointment?

Call us at 905-405-0090, email info@careforu.ca, or send the booking form on this page and we will confirm a time that works for you. We keep evening and weekend appointments open, so you do not have to take time off work to start treatment.

  • What happens at my first visit?

Your physiotherapist takes a full history, then assesses your movement, strength, and posture to find the source of the problem rather than just the symptom. You will hear exactly what they found, begin hands-on treatment the same visit, and leave with a short home exercise program and a clear plan for what comes next.

  • How long is a treatment session?

Your initial assessment runs 45 to 60 minutes, since it covers both the assessment and your first treatment. Follow-up sessions are usually 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area being treated and the techniques your plan calls for.

  • Do I need a doctor's referral?

No. Physiotherapy is a direct-access service in Ontario, so you can book with us straight away. Some extended health plans do ask for a referral before they reimburse you, so it is worth a quick check of your policy before your first visit.

  • Do you offer direct billing to insurance?

Yes. We direct bill most major extended health plans wherever the insurer allows it, so you only pay the portion your plan does not cover. Bring your policy details to your first visit and we will set it up for you.
