Frequently
Asked Questions

Questions we often asked

  • What happens during a naturopathy session?

Your first consultation is a long one, usually 60 to 75 minutes, because it covers your full health history alongside your diet, sleep, stress, activity, and any medications or supplements you take. Your naturopathic doctor may recommend lab testing, and you leave with the first steps of a plan rather than a list of products.

  • What does naturopathy focus on?

Naturopathic medicine looks for the root cause of a concern and treats the whole person rather than an isolated symptom. In practice that means nutrition, lifestyle and stress support, botanical medicine, and targeted supplementation, chosen for your situation and reviewed as things change.

  • Can naturopathy replace medical treatment?

No, and it is not intended to. Naturopathic care works alongside your medical care, not instead of it. Never stop or change a prescribed medication without speaking to the doctor who prescribed it, and tell your naturopathic doctor everything you are taking so your plan stays safe and free of interactions.

  • Will I receive a personalized wellness plan?

Yes. You receive a written plan built around your health goals, with the priorities set out in order so you know what to start first rather than changing everything at once. The plan is reviewed and adjusted at each follow-up based on how you are responding.

  • How many naturopathy sessions will I need?

Most people start with the initial consultation and a follow-up three to four weeks later to review how the plan is working. After that, visits every six to twelve weeks are typical, and the spacing depends entirely on your goals and how complex the picture is.
