Frequently
Asked Questions

Questions we often asked

  • What does a chiropractic session involve?

Your first session starts with a health history and a physical assessment of your spine, joints, posture, and movement. From there your chiropractor explains what they found and begins treatment, which may combine joint adjustments, soft tissue work, and specific exercises to hold the change between visits.

  • What problems can chiropractic care help with?

Chiropractic care is most often used for back and neck pain, tension headaches, sciatica, joint stiffness, sports injuries, and the postural strain that builds up from desk work or repetitive lifting. If your concern turns out to be better served by another approach, we will tell you and point you to the right care.

  • Is chiropractic treatment painful?

Most people find adjustments comfortable and feel relief immediately afterwards. You may notice pressure and hear a popping sound, which is simply gas releasing from the joint, not bone cracking. Mild soreness for a day afterwards is normal, much like after a workout, and your chiropractor adjusts their technique to your comfort level.

  • How many sessions will I need?

It depends on how long the problem has been there and what is causing it. Many people notice a meaningful change within the first two to four visits, and your chiropractor reviews your progress as you go rather than committing you to a long block of care up front.

  • Do I need a referral?

No. Chiropractors are primary care practitioners in Ontario, so you can book directly with us. Check your extended health policy, though, as some insurers ask for a physician referral before they will reimburse your visits.
